CHILKAT BLANKET This piece is my interpretation in paper media of a ceremonial cape once worn by the Tlingit Indians of Southeastern Alaska. Blankets were woven of mountain goat wool and cedar bark. The classic geometric totemic designs displayed major and minor crests of the Tlingit clan and denoted tribal rank. Cast paper bas relief 20" w x 13"
